ABOUT JACOB SCHERMERHORN

My name is Jacob Schermerhorn. I am a freelance filmmaker in the Kansas City area. I have strong film experience working as a cinematographer, editor, colorist, and director on projects ranging from music videos to documentaries. I am a graduate of The University of Kansas with a BGS in Film and Media Studies and a minor in Journalism. I have had a passion for video creation for as long as I can remember. I work hard to have range when it comes to my style and projects so that I am best equipped to complete any project that is thrown my way.

I have worked as Senior Video Assistant for KU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for 3 years producing promotional video content for their social media. I have also worked contract for KC production company Wide Awake Films. There I worked as an editor where I aided them in editing promotional and informative videos for John Deere. Most recently I have worked an internship for Lore Media where I ran their social media content and aided in producing photo and video content for the company.

Currently I work fulltime freelance as a cinematographer and photographer through Jake Scherm Visuals.
